Boys and Girls Golf Ease into Postseason

The past week, our boys and girls golf squads each had two matches, with a total of two victories, one mid-ranked placing, and one loss.

The boys squad headed to the Columbus Country Club on Thursday, September 12, to face off with New Albany. Against the Eagles, our boys obtained a decisive victory with a 154 against New Albany’s 167. Senior Ali Khan shot a phenomenal game of 33, followed by Griffin Mitchell’20 with 38 points and Kahmar Byers’20 not far behind with a 41. Miles Razek’20 was only one point off, earning a 42, while Anay Reddy’20 scored a 46.

At the Rodney Butt Classic invitational on Saturday, September 4, at the Denison Golf Club, the boys placed 8 out of 18 schools with a score of 326. Russell Ahmed’22 led with a 77, closely followed by freshman Stephen Ma and sophomore Aditya Reddy a respective 80 and 82. Rounding out the team was Miles Razek’20 with 87 points, and Arvind Rajagopalan’23 with a score of 94.

The girls golf squad confronted Worthington Christian and Wellington at the Raymond Memorial Golf Course on Tuesday, September 10. With a score of 198, the girls placed first against both opponents.

Our girls–Academy’s newest team–then advanced onwards to Blacklick Woods on Thursday, September 12 to face Buckeye Valley and CSG. CA placed last with a score of 198.
