After winning all of their games the previous week, the CA boys lacrosse team rode their momentum to three more victories against Granville, Bexley, and Bellbrook.

Next was a matchup against rivals, the Bexley Lions on Thursday, May 9. By the end of the first-half, our boys were up an astounding 17-2, with senior David Barren’s hat trick, K. Bellisari with two, Klingbeil with one, Swartz with four, Yaw with two, and freshman White with five. Dalyn DeCree’19 snuck one past the defense in the third quarter, while Davan Agrawal’22, Jake Carlin’22, Mills, and Swartz finshed off the game in the fourth quarter, leading to Academy’s 23-3 victory.

Riding high into the game against Bellbrook, our boys took some time to celebrate seniors Barren, Jacob Beck, K. Bellisari, DeCree, Gunnar Geiger, Oscar Giller, and Klingbeil. Inspired by their seniors leadership, the boys went out and put up 11 points in the first half. Barren and Klingbeil got one apiece, as did Yaw and Mills. Swartz and White both scored twice, and the dynamic brother duo of freshman Drake Bellisari and senior Keenan Bellisari each knocked one into the net. The seniors continued to shine in the second half, with Barren and Klingbeil scoring three more times, Geiger getting two, and K. Bellisari adding another to his total. Swartz also scored in this 21-4 win, handing the Vikings a victory in their last regular season game.

On Tuesday, May 7, our boys travelled to Granville, looking to add another win to their already impressive 12-3 record. Three goals in quick succession by Keenan Bellisari’19, Zach White’22, and Otis Klingbeil’19 put the Vikes up 3-0 after the first quarter, and two more goals from White and one more by Klingbeil gave the Vikes a steady 6-2 lead going into the second half. Capitalizing on their momentum, Andrew Swartz’20 tucked two into the back of the net, as K. Bellisari added another goal to his total. Robert Mills’21 added another goal to the Vikings score, as Charlie Yaw’20 placed two in the back of the net, extending the Vikes’ lead to 12-4 going into the final quarter. Swartz and White both scored hat tricks, and Yaw scored twice more, bringing his goal count to four and helping the Vikes close out the game 16-7.

Ending the regular season with a 15-3 record, our boys are looking good heading into postseason. They kick off against Olentangy Berlin in the District Tournament at home on Monday, May 13.
