On Wednesday, May 1, boys track went up against Bloom Carroll in a dual meet at which they lost to the Bulldogs 81 to 41.  Despite the outcome, there were many bright spots for the Vikes at the meet.

Senior Liam McCann flew to a fourth place finish in the 800 and a second place finish in the 1600. Fellow senior Abhi Ramesh rounded out the top three.

No relay teams raced, but Durell Moultrie’21 stole third in the 300 meter hurdles and fourth in the long jump, while Johnson placed just above him in third. Senior Alex McClellan leaped to first place in the high jump, and fellow senior Caleb Crawley topped the discus and placed second in shot putt.

Two days later, the Vikes raced again at Westerville Central against Canal Winchester, Heath, New Albany, John Glenn, Westerville South, Chillicothe, Granville, Groveport-Madison, Westerville Central, Crove City, Licking Valley, and Newark, placing 12th overall.

Senior Harry Mills snatched second in the 400 meter dash with Huyghe just five places behind in seventh, sophomore Luke Nester flew to third in the 800, and junior Charlie Sabgir raced to sixth in the 1600.

In the 4×400 meter relay, Huyghe, Nester, Nankervis, and Armour raced together to a seventh place finish, McClellan tied for fifth in the high jump, and Crawley threw to a fourth place finish in discus.
