Baseball Earns Two Victories in Busy Week

After ending the previous week with a triumph against Berne Union, the CA baseball team was looking to build on its win. Kicking off the week against Grandview Heights at home on Monday, April 29, the Vikes were determined to claim a victory. After the exciting back and forth game, our boys managed to pull ahead, securing a 5-4 win.

After a quick turn around, the Vikings were back on home field the next day on Tuesday, April 30, facing off against Whetstone. The game remained scoreless until CA rounded the bases and held on, claiming a 1-0 victory.

The Vikes then faced off against Grandview Heights yet again on Wednesday, May 1 away. Our boys fought hard, but the Bobcats were hungry for a win after their recent defeat, and pulled off an 8-9 upset.

Unfortunately, the Vikings didn’t have a chance to exact revenge on another team, as their next two games against Licking Valley and Bishop Hartley were cancelled.

The team has another packed week coming up, with Senior Night on Monday, May 6, at home against Whitehall-Yearling, and a second home game on Tuesday, May 7 against St. Charles. Our boys then go on the road to face off against Whitehall-Yearling again on Wednesday, May 8, before returning home on Friday, May 10 for a game against Fredericktown. They close off the week away against Jonathan Alder on Saturday, May 11.
