Our ladies kicked off the week with Senior Night on Tuesday, April 23, at home against Centerburg. In their commemorative meet, the seniors brought their A game. Senior captain Sammie Kass scorched the 200 with a time of 28.07, while fellow senior captain Maddie Tuckerman placed second in the mile run with a time of 5:47.56. Senior Ginnie Ma also won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.81. It is safe to say that the senior class wrote another page in their illustrious career books.

The next meet was the Milt Will invitational at Canal Winchester High School on Friday, April 26. Our vikes faced off against a stacked field including Canal Winchester, Fairfield Union, Groveport- Madison, Pickerington Central, Pickerington North and New Albany. Despite the stiff competition, our girls had some top finishes.

Tuckerman continued her impressive season by placing fifth in the mile with a time of 5:42.71. Our sprinters also refused to be outdone, as Kass raced to a second place finish in the 400 with a time of 1:03.10, closely followed by Hannah Clay’21 in third. Kass and Clay were also in the 200 meter dash, in which Clay placed third with a 27.42 and Kass placed sixth with a 28.90. Closing out the meet, newcomer Olivia Archibald’21 placed tenth in the stacked 100 meter dash with a time of 14.07.

Hoping to keep their momentum going, our girls will be traveling to Westerville Central’s Invitational on Friday, May 3.
