On Thursday, April 25, the Girls Lacrosse team took on the 19th ranked program in the country against St. Francis DeSales.

The Vikes kept pace with the Stallions through the course of the game. Although CA wasn’t getting off as many shots as DeSales, they were much more efficient, converting all 7 of there first-half shots on goal, while St. Francis shot 12, but missed 5, leaving the score tied at half.

The team kept the intensity in the second half and upped its defense, forcing 7 turnovers and limiting its opponent to only 4 goals. But Academy only converted 4 themselves, forcing the game into overtime.

In overtime, DeSales got off one shot, but it was enough as it connected with the back of the net and handing the Vikings an 11-12 loss.

Two days later on Saturday, April 27, the girls traveled to Cleveland for a doubleheader.

In the morning game, CA took on the Medina Battling Bees. Academy started out hot and held a lead throughout, winning 8-6 on the road.

Just an hour after its first victory, the team took on Hawken High School. The Vikes blew through the Hawks defense and came away with a 7-3 win.

The team has two games in the upcoming week, hosting Thomas Worthington on Tuesday, April 30, before going to CSG for a matchup against the Unicorns on Thursday, May 2.
