The Columbus Academy team picked up three wins this past week but also dropped its first match of the season to St. Xavier.
The Vikes faced a gauntlet midway through the week, playing three matches in three days, both breezi g through the matches while easily defeating Worthington Christian, Pickerington North, and Whitehall on April 9, 10, and 11, respectively. Our boys did not drop a single court in all three matches.
The Vikes faced their toughest test of the season on Saturday, April 13, going up against Saint Xavier, which is ranked 3rd in Division 1. The Bombers were too much for the Vikings to overcome, and our boys suffered their first loss by a score of 4-1. Jack Madison’21 was the lone Academy player to win his court, defeating junior Kyle Powers.
The Vikes will look to rebound on Monday, April 15, with a home match against Saint Charles, before traveling to Dublin Jerome on Wednesday, April 17.
