It was a big week for both seniors and freshmen for the Columbus Academy wrestling team. After picking up a victory on Senior Night, 4 freshmen traveled to Dublin Scioto to participate in the All-State freshman tournament.

On Wednesday, February 6, the Vikes honored Bobby Diller, Cole Duffy, Thomas Jones, and Eric Menq on Senior Night as they wrapped up the regular season portion of their decorated careers. Taking on Bloom-Carroll, Grandview, and Marion-Franklin, the Vikings came out on top in a battle of four injury-ravaged teams.

Then, on Saturday, February 9, freshmen Chase Chavarria, Matt Comisar, Gyvynn Mendenhall, and Zara Syed competed in the All-State freshman tournament. It was a standout day for Mendenhall, as he took home second place honors in his highly competitive weight class. Also placing in the state tournament were Comisar(5th) and Chavarria(8th).

The Vikes have their last regular season match on Tuesday, February 12 against New Albany, Thomas Worthington and Whetstone before the postseason begins with the MSL tournament on Saturday, February 16.
