On Tuesday, January 23, the AquaVikes defeated DeSales and Madison Christian with over triple their points, 126-39, and Madison Christian coming in last with 5 points. Seniors Sarah Cabre, Sammie Kass, Callista Popp, and junior Abby Yakam ’20 took first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:02.22. Lauren Klinefelter’22 also got first place with a time of 2:21.15 in the 200 IM.

The MSL meet on Saturday, January 26, determined who will take the league title. With Academy winning three in a row, a fourth league title was heavily anticipated.

Academy won with 353 points compared to Grandview Heights’s second place: 218. There were fantastic swims from everyone on the team, but some highlights are Sarah Cabre taking 1st in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02.31, and Sammie Kass also taking 1st in the 100 Free with a time of 55.25 seconds.

The girls compete on Saturday, February 2, for the JV Championships.
