On Tuesday, January 15, the Columbus Academy wrestling team went 1-1 in its Super Tri-match versus Linden-McKinley and Liberty Union.

Opening up the evening versus Linden-McKinley, the Vikes ran away with an easy victory over the Panthers, finishing at 42-14. Highlights of the match included victories from Thomas Jones’19 and sophomores Keir Gorosope and Chris Sugar.

But the Vikings did not fare as well against Liberty Union. The Lions topped Academy by a score of 49-19, and also easily defeated Bishop Watterson at the same event 54-12.

The Kevin Michael Invitational, hosted by the Vikes, was canceled on Saturday, January 19, due to the snow storm. It will not be rescheduled.

Our wrestlers will return to the mat at home on January 24 to face Buckeye Valley, West Jefferson, and Liberty Union. The Vikes will travel to New Albany for the New Albany Invitational on January 26.
