At the 2019 Golden Globes, celebrities wore black to raise awareness for Time’s Up, an organization that fights for a safe and fair work environment for women. Additionally, actors wore a pin, bracelet, or ribbon on the carpet for Times Up x2.

Regina King, best supporting actress in a motion picture (“If Beale Street Could Talk”),  addressed Times Up x2, saying “I am making a vow, and it’s going to be tough, to make sure that everything I produce is 50 percent women.”

King challenged other actors to do the same. Her pledge enlivened the audience as some shed tears followed by standing ovations.

Time’s Up x2 is one step closer to gender equality rights for women, and many women are lucky to have celebrities like King who will bring awareness to issues some others are too afraid to bring up.
