Girls Swimming Keeps Streak Alive

This week was a light one, with the AquaVikes having only one meet on Friday, January 18 against Bexley and Chillicothe High School after the Saturday, January 19 meet was cancelled due to weather conditions.

The annual Viking Invitational was on Friday, January 18 against Bexley and Chillicothe, and the Vikes took a commanding lead right off the bat, with Annalise Grammel’20, Sammie Kass’19, Lauren Klinefelter’22, and Emma Yakam ’22 winning their 200 medley relay with a time of 1:58.36. Mary Kate Prall’22 also helped Academy secure the win, with a time of 58.84 coming first in the 100 Free.

In the end, the AquaVikes beat out both other teams, earning first with 147 points to Bexley’s second place 114 points and Chillicothe’s last place 47 points.

The Vikes swim against DeSales and Madison Christian on Tuesday, January 23, and have the MSL League Meet against Bexley, Grandview Heights, and Whitehall on Saturday, January 26.
