“Dear Anne,
Congratulations! It is our privilege to inform you that you have been selected as the 2017-18 NFHS Coaches Association National Coach of the Year Award for the sport of Girls Field Hockey . . . This award designates you among the most elite coaches in the country, as well as the state and sectional coach of the year for your sport and community!”
Our own Anne Horton has received the 2017-18 Field Hockey National Coach of the Year, awarded by the National Federation of High Schools Association. Earlier this school year, Horton was also honored as the Ohio Coach of the Year, which was quite an excitement for Columbus Academy.
Horton says, “It is really quite an honor and it is something very special . . . I’ve been very fortunate that Academy has some great teams and great athletes that have worked very hard. They are the reason I have gotten this award, which is not for me, but for the field hockey players of Academy that have helped me win this achievement.”
Congratulations to Coach Horton for a remarkable year of distinguised acknowledgements!
