On Friday, January 18, the AquaVikes hosted their annual Academy Invitational, facing off against Bexley, Chillicothe, Worthington Christian, Hamilton Township, and Licking Heights.
The boys team took the competition by storm, placing first with 154 points, over twice the score of second place. The Vikings placed both first and second in the 200 medley relay, swept the podium in the 200 freestyle, and won the 200 yard IM. Academy got both gold and silver for the 50 free, second in the 100 Butterfly, and nabbed the top three places in the 100 freestyle. The Vikes won the 500 free and 200 free relay, and took first and second for the 100 backstroke. To finish the meet, our boys won the 400 freestyle relay, sweeping all three relays in the meet.
The Vikes were scheduled for a meet on Saturday, January 19, at St. Charles, but poor weather forced a cancellation.
Next week, CA hosts Desales, Madison Christian, and Village Academy on Tuesday, January 22, before the MSL meet on Saturday, January 26.
