The CA Girls swim team dove into meet season this week, facing Bishop Watterson at home on Friday, November 30, and having its annual Relay Meet on Saturday, December 1.
The first meet of the week was a quick one, with Academy controlling the meet from beginning to end. Superb swims from senior Sammie Kass, junior Whitney Hannallah, and freshman Lauren Klinefelter all helped secure the solid victory, triumphing 96.50-73.50 over Watterson.
With a quick turnaround, the Relay Invitational Meet began on Saturday morning. With Gahanna Lincoln, Delaware Hayes, The Wellington School, Westerville North, Columbus Bexley, and Academy all sending their best, everyone knew it would be a tough meet. Races from senior Sarah Cabre, junior Rachel Raque, and freshman Alexandra Butnariu all helped their relays place well. It was an incredibly close meet, and the Vikings ended up tying with Gahanna Lincoln for first, 84-84.
Academy has a dual meet against Delaware on Friday, December 7, and then competes in the Ned Reeb invitational on Saturday, December 8.
