On Thursday, November 15, the Upper School Band performed its annual fall concert.
Flute Choir took the stage first, performing “Minuet and Trio.” Eight flute players attended extra rehearsals throughout the school year to be ready for their special piece. Mrs. O’Rourke is their director.
The band’s impressive setlist followed with “The Light Eternal,” “First Suite in E Flat, Chaconne,” “Go Vikes!” and “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.”
“Go Vikes!” isa new version of Academy’s fight song, which was composed and arranged by junior Simon Iobst, who felt honored to have his first performance of a piece.
Following CA’s band performance, the Central Ohio Brass Band (COBB) played “Candide,” “First Suite in E Flat” and “Zirkus Renz.” Sneeringer is in her fifteenth year as the director of COBB, of which she is a former a player in the trombone section.
A dessert potluck at reception featured various sweets.
