On Saturday, November 10, the Boys Cross Country team and Annalise Grammel’20 traveled to Hebron to participate in the state meet.

This meet was originally scheduled on November 3, yet due to wet conditions, the race was postponed to the 10th.  But the conditions on this past Saturday weren’t much better, with below freezing temperatures and high winds hindering the team’s ability to perform.

The Vikes came into the race ranked 18th in the state, and performed somewhat accordingly, placing 18th out of the 20 teams competing. Although Seniors Liam McCann and Abhi Ramesh’s final race didn’t go quite as they wanted, placing 127 and 141, respectively, sophomore Luke Nester continued to show potential for the future of the program, placing 36.

Despite the meet not going as the runners wanted, this was still a very successful season for the team, making it to the State Final four years in a row.

Junior Annalise Grammel was the only female qualifier for the Vikings, and she represented the team well. Grammel placed 25th out of the 179 girls competing at the Division III level. Annalise will be back with a vengeance for the Vikes in the coming season for her senior year.
