Topgolf: Fun for All Ages

The newly opened Topgolf brings three levels of golf and dining to Polaris.

With 49 sites nationwide, including another in Ohio at a location in West Chester near Cincinnati, Topgolf features 102 outdoor ranges across its three floors, where guests play a game with up to six players.

Topgolf’s featured game consists of players scoring points by hitting balls tracked by microchip technology into colored targets. Point totals are determined by the distance and accuracy of players’ shots.

Clubs are provided at the ranges, and balls are summoned by swiping the club at a sensor.
The microchipped balls instantly score themselves, showing players the accuracy and distance of their shots on a television screen in their assigned range.

For those not playing golf, the venue includes 65,000 square feet of meeting areas, bars with televisions on each floor, couches and tables. Food and drink are available throughout.

While Topgolf certainly provides a fun space to spend time with friends, it will also benefit the local economy. Five hundred people were hired to staff the Polaris location, which is always busy, with reservations filling up quickly. Bays are also set aside for walk-ins, but wait times for these can commonly span up to two hours.
