Coming off a huge 5-0 victory against the Whitehall Rams the previous week, the Vikings were fired up for their last two games of regular season play.

Going up against Johnstown-Monroe on Tuesday, October 8, our girls started off slowly and were down 1-0 at halftime. Using the break to regroup, the Vikes quickly turned the game around, as sophomore Katie Schiano scored a hat trick to put them up 3-1. Freshman goalkeeper Kennedy Jackson blocked shot after shot in the second half to hold the score steady, racking up eight saves.

The victory was made even sweeter as the team came together after the game to celebrate seniors Madalynn Farkas, Leah Pierre-Louis, Caroline Mallory and Megan Schmitz.

The Vikes rounded off their regular season with another big win, this time against rival Columbus School for Girls on Thursday, October 10. Sophomore Katie Schiano put in an astounding four goals, while freshman goalkeeper Kennedy Jackson only let the Unicorns slip one past her and had four saves, making the final score 4-1.

Ending the season with a 7-4-4 record, our fourth-ranked girls look forward to taking on 13 seed Tree of Life on Tuesday, October 16, in the first round of the district tournament.
