The Viking boys soccer squad bounced back from last week’s pair of losses as they defeated Hamilton Township on Thursday, October 11, but failed to carry that momentum over to their last regular season matchup on Saturday, October 13, against Granville.

The Vikings’ road stand continued on Thursday night, October 11, as they ventured to Hamilton Township. Academy trampled the Rangers 3-0, with a pair of goals by Colin Sullivan’19 and an additional score by David Barren’19. This win snapped the group’s two-game losing streak, serving as a needed pickup as they approached crunch time.

The action continued on Saturday, October 13, as the Vikes closed out their 16-game regular season at home against the Granville Aces. Throughout the 80 minutes of frigid play, the group could not match the Aces’ sole score, resulting in a 1-0 shutout for the visiting Vikes. This loss came against a strong Division-1 squad and served its purpose as a tough tune-up as Academy begins tournament play.

The group will open up postseason play at home on Saturday, October 20, when they will face the winner of Tuesday’s matchup on October 16, Delaware Buckeye Valley vs Caledonia River Valley.
