CA’s field hockey girls were ecstatic after their Monday, September 26, win against state rival Thomas Worthington. Using this energy, the Vikes headed into this week ready to fight some more.
Academy hosted Bishop Watterson on Tuesday, October 2, for its Annual Breast Cancer Awareness game. Viking players donned pink jerseys and handed out roses to breast cancer survivors before the game’s start. Because of a looming storm, our girls could only play one half of a full game, but Charlotte Adams’21 snuck in a goal to give Academy the win, 1-0.
The Vikes hit the road afterwards to face Olentangy Orange on Thursday, October 4. Academy dominated the field, beating the Pioneers 6-0. Regan Cornelius’21 and Mercedes Crestanello’19 each contributed 2 goals, while Adams and Avie Smith’19 each put one.
The Vikings look forward to the final week of their regular season and the start of the postseason. They begin this week by travelling to Bexley on Monday, October 8, before hosting New Albany for their last regular season match on Wednesday, October 10.
