The girls soccer squad was fired up to play one of its biggest rivals after the Licking Heights game got postponed due to rain on Monday, September 24. The Vikes faced Bexley on Wednesday, September 26, hoping to end the week on a high note.

After conceding a goal early on, junior Annalise Grammel scored to tie the game 1-1, but Bexley quickly recovered and took the lead. A goal by freshman Mary-Kate Prall tied the game with only a few minutes left in the first half, sending the teams to halftime on equal footing. Only a few minutes into the second half, sophomore Katie Schiano snuck a shot past the Bexley keeper, putting the Vikes up 3-2. With three minutes left to go, our girls were up one and preparing to celebrate. A last minute foul in the penalty box gave the Lions an opportunity to score, and they tied the game up 3-3, leaving the Vikings no time to recover their lead.

Our Vikes have a packed schedule this week, playing Fairfield Union on Monday, October 1, Grandview Heights on Wednesday, October 3, and Whitehall-Yearling on Thursday, October 4.
