Academy’s cross country team came off of a hot finish and ran into cool temperatures at the Tiger Invitational at Pickerington Central. The race was loaded with top Division One teams, such as Gahanna Lincoln and Upper Arlington, giving the Vikes a challenge.
The boys squad took sixth out of ten teams. Senior Liam McCann led the way with a 15th place finish. Luke Nester’21 and Charlie Sabgir’20 trailed closely behind, taking 18th and 30th, respectively.
The girls team only brought a couple of athletes to participate at the varsity level with a goal of achieving personal records. Junior Annalise Grammel and sophomore Regan Cornelius both held their own in a field of impressive talent, taking 4th and 6th out of the 70 varsity athletes running.
The team looks to get back on track at the Midwest Meet of Champions hosted by Hilliard Darby on Saturday, September 29.
