Coming into this week with a strong 6-1 record, the Volleyball Vikings were excited to improve their season record on home turf.

On Tuesday, September 4, the Vikings suited up for a game against Tree of Life. After traveling for all of last week’s spars, a home match was more than welcome to the team.

Right off the bat, it was clear that Academy was the dominant team of the match. After gaining a quick lead against Tree of Life, the Trojans fought back to make the first set a close one, coming down to 25-23 in favor of the Vikings.

Tree of Life was determined to not give up easily, but our girls matched their focus, and although Tree of Life didn’t go down easily, the second set again went to Academy, 25-23.

The final set was where the Vikings really took off, showing their endurance when Tree of Life faltered. Tree of Life was out of steam, so it was no issue for our our team to quickly take the third set, 25-7.

After winning Tuesday’s game, CA has an outstanding record of 7-1, continuing its winning streak.

Next week, the Spiking Vikings have three games. On Tuesday, September 11, they travel to Westerville South. On Thursday, September 13th, the girls head to Grandview Heights and on Saturday, September 15, Academy returns home to host both Northridge and Columbus School for Girls.
