After last week’s battery of games, Academy’s field hockey squad settled down for a less intense week of competition. Our girls faced Granville at home on Wednesday, September 5, beating the Blue Aces in a 9-0 shutout.

It was clear that the Vikings dominated the field on Wednesday, and CA held possession for most of the game. The Vikes’ rock-solid defense was impenetrable since Granville couldn’t get through to score. Academy’s offense was also outstanding, with Regan Cornelius’21, Carolyn Bowman’19 and Mercedes Crestanello’19 each putting in two goals and Avie Smith’19 earning the team’s first hat trick of the season.

The Vikings have shown that they are as formidable as ever, improving their season record to 6-0 and continuing a shut-out that has lasted the entire season.

Our girls play Bishop Hartley at home on Tuesday, September 11, and then hit the road for a game at Olentangy Liberty on Thursday, September 13.
