Our CA golf squad is rearing up to defend its state title. The majority of the Vikes’ state champion team from last year returned to the green to start its season over the past month.

Academy opened up the season the best way possible, winning the MSL Preseason Golf Tournament at Westchester on Tuesday, August 7. The squad then took home a victory in the August 14 Warrior/Jag Classic at the Northstar Golf Club.

The Vikings earned second in a tournament against Pickerington North and Grove City on Thursday, August 23. Newcomer Russell Ahmed’22 scored an impressive 34 points on the course, earning him a position as a medalist.

CA then placed 3rd in the MSL mid-season tournament on Saturday, August 25, losing only to Worthington Christian and Bexley.

Although the Vikes were slated for a run at the Upper Arlington Invitational on Saturday, August 1, they did not complete the course due to rain, only reaching 11 holes.

Our boys will hit the links again at Bishop Watterson on Wednesday, September 5, before traveling for the St. Charles Invitational on Saturday, September 8.
