The Academy girls track team traveled to Watkins Memorial for the district meet, competing in the field events on Tuesday, May 15, running preliminaries on Thursday, May 17, and securing second place after the finals on Saturday, May 19.

The Vikings were outstanding throughout the week, producing high finishes all around. The squad consisting of junior Sammie Kass, seniors Muriel Goldfarb and Bri Dragin, and freshman Hannah Clay, bolted around the track to win the 4×200. The 4×400 team, featuring Clay, Kass, Goldfarb, and sophomore Annalise Grammel, followed suit, also snatching a victory.

Individually, Grammel captured first in a close 800 race, her second consecutive win in the event. She also grabbed a second-place finish in the mile with one of her best times all season. Goldfarb delivered two fantastic individual results for CA as well, taking second in the 200 meter and third in the 100 meter.

In the field, senior Khloe Dubenion was spectacular once again, nabbing a victory in discus.

With the impressive performance, Academy has earned a trip to Fairfield Union for the regional meet on Wednesday, May 23 and Friday, May 25.
