Boys Track Finishes Third in League Meet

The CA boys track team enjoyed a strong start to its postseason, as the Vikes grabbed third place at the MSL meet in London with 101 points.

A multitude of sensational performances contributed to the outstanding result. Senior Karibi Hart took second place in the 100 with a time of 11.31 and swiped first in the 200 after running a blazing 22.10. Classmate Kieran Law then earned a third-place finish in the 300 meter hurdles.

The seniors continued to shine, as Nick Robie snatched second in the 800 with a 1:57.74, and Angus Soderberg nabbed fourth just seconds behind him.

Academy’s distance runners stayed hot, as senior Nick Watson took third in the 1600 with a time of 4:32.03, and junior Liam McCann grabbed sixth in 4:39.01. Freshman Luke Nester stole third in the 3200, crossing the finish line in 10:22.32.

The Vikings’ relay teams dominated, earning numerous top-three finishes. CA placed second in both the 4×800 and 4×200, while swiping third in the 4×400.

Juniors Dorrian Moultrie, David Barren, and Harry Mills, along with Hart, bolted around the track in a time of 44.13, securing a victory.

The Vikes race again in their district meet at Watkins Memorial on Tuesday, May 15, Thursday, May 17, and Saturday, May 19.
