The CA boys track team wrapped up its regular season with numerous strong performances at the Mount Gilead Invitational on Saturday, May 5.
Sophomore Charlie Sabgir and junior Liam McCann flew around the track in the 1600, with Sabgir grabbing fourth in a time of 4:48.5, and McCann posting a 4:51 to take fifth.
The distance runners continued to impress, as freshman Luke Nester nabbed fourth in the 3200 with a time of 10:15, and senior Chris Heermann followed suit with a fourth-place finish of his own in the 800, running a 2:05.
The sprinters had some phenomenal performances as well, as the Vikings blazed to third place in both the 4×100 and the 4×400, while also snatching second in the 4×200. Seniors Nick Watson, Nick Robie, Angus Soderberg, and Karibi Hart put together the highest-placing relay of the night, as they swept a field of twelve talented teams in the 4×800 to steal a victory in a time of 8:21.1.
Academy finished the meet with 63.5 points and placed fourth out of thirteen teams.
The Vikes race again in their league meet at London on Tuesday, May 8, and Friday, May 11.
