The CA boys swim team continued its reign of superiority, with a win in its final regular season meet, as well as a victory in MSLs.
The team celebrated Senior Night by making history against DeSales and Madison Christian, on Tuesday, January 23. The Vikings honored seniors Zac Beck, Max Dreisbach, Chris Heermann, Luke Tiberi, Harry Zaye, and Zach Zhou with a celebration at the conclusion of the meet, but beforehand, the team got down to business.
After coming within 0.13 seconds of the 200 free relay pool record last week, Dreisbach and juniors Jack Campbell, Jacob Eismann, and Eric Devore took another shot at the history books: this time with much success. The four smashed the record, with a time of 1:27.57. But the record-breaking didn’t stop there, as Dreisbach also broke the 200 IM record, swimming a 1:56.61.
The boys continued to dominate their opponents throughout the meet, and triumphed over second-place DeSales, 122-46.
On Saturday, January 27, Academy hosted the MSLs. For the fifth year in a row, the team was crowned Mid-State League champions, as the Vikes again cemented their place at the top of the conference.
The boys will travel to the Columbus School for Girls on Saturday, February 3, for the JV Championships.
