The CA girls swim team came back from winter break eager to get back in the pool and earn a win. On Thursday, January 11, the Vikes did exactly that, defeating both Wellington and Bishop Hartley.

In the meet’s opening race, Academy’s relays came up short to Bishop Hartley, as the Vikings placed second and third in the 200 medley relay. But CA came roaring back, winning the 400 freestyle relay with Jane Li’18, Sarah Cabre’19, Samantha Kass’19, and Whitney Hannallah’20.

The girls also dominated individual events. Inji Kang’19 and Li took first and second places, respectively, in the 100 backstroke, and sophomores Abby Yakam and Annalise Grammel outpaced the field in the 100 breaststroke.

The Vikings look to stay hot in their two upcoming home meets, as they welcome archrival, Bexley, on Friday, January 19, before hosting the Viking Invitational on Saturday, January 20.
