Boys Swimming Builds on Undefeated Season

The boys swim team bolstered its undefeated record over winter break with three overall wins against Granville on Thursday, December 21, Fairfield Union on Friday, January 5, and Dover on Saturday, January 6.

The boys then claimed another victory at home in their first meet back from winter break against Wellington and Bishop Hartley on Thursday, January 11. The positive results reflected the meet’s high energy and the Vikes’ hard work in practices over break.

Snatching first place in the 200 medley relay, sophomore James Cao along with juniors David Barren, Jacob Beck, and Eric Devore jump-started the boys’ momentum. Senior Max Dreisbach and Cao followed that strong performance with respective first and second place finishes in the 200 IM.

Individual victories continued to roll in, from juniors Ethan Nankervis in the 50 free, Jack Campbell in the 100 free, and Jacob Beck in the 500 free.

In addition, Dreisbach took the win in the 100 breastroke, and sophomore Mike DeAscentis swept the pool in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.

The boys finished out the strong performance as a team, taking first in the 200 and 400 free relays.

Looking to extend its win streak, the team faces Bexley on Friday, January 19, and competes in the Viking Invitational on Saturday, January 20.
