Treble Choir and Camerata’s Superlative Evening of Chorals

Camerata. (Inji Kang’19/Media)

Academy’s  Treble Choir and Camerata gave an outstanding and well-attended performance in our Schoedinger Theatre on November 7 at 7pm. Following Mrs. Brooks’ introduction to the choirs and their accompanist, Mrs.  Jennifer Kristoff, the evening was off to a superb start and a throughly praiseworthy event.

The all-women’s Treble Choir took the stage in their signature black uniform dresses, beginning with “Storm.” Two seniors delivered solos within two featured songs: Seniors Khloe Dubenion in “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” and Esther Lawrence’s “One Voice.” In the latter song, Camerata joined in with the choir and for the culminating piece, the Treble Choir added a playful touch in “Ain’t Miss Behavin.”

The choir exited as Camerata’s performance followed. The singers began with featured soloists,Claire Budzik’19 and Mira Bhasin’19 concluded with “Always Something Sings” and “It Had to Be You,” respectively.

A reception was held in the theater lobby after the show.

Both choirs will reunite for a winter performance on February 21.
