The Vikings celebrated the career of Khloe Dubenion, the team’s lone senior and its captain on its Senior Night, Tuesday, October 10.

The Vikings took to the court with revenge as they faced arch-rival Bexley. Academy lost the first meeting in a heartbreaking 3-2.

With a fantastic defense, the Vikes won the first two sets 25-16 and 25-23. Bexley took the next set 25-22, but CA sealed the victory with a 26-24 win in the fourth set.

The Vikings traveled to Grandview Heights on October 12 for their last match of the regular season. On fire again as it started the game, Academy grabbed an early 2-0 lead, with 25-18 and 25-19. The Bobcats rallied to win the third set, but it was no test for the red-hot Vikings, who won the fourth set 25-8 to make it back-to-back victories.

Heading into the tournament, the girls have an overall record of 7-11 and have built serious momentum with two solid wins. Academy’s first tournament game will be on the road on Tuesday, October 17 to face Northmore.
