On Monday, October 9, Academy’s In-the-Know team faced Chillicothe at the Fawcett Center on Ohio State’s university’s campus.
Unlike Jeopardy, In-the-Know is a quiz-bowl fashioned match that hosts two of four teams. Questions run the gamut: current events, sports, sciences, maths, geography, and literature. Head coach, Dr. Andy Morris, leads this year’s team of four.
Eager to secure their first win of the season, the Vikes were on top of their game with their first 50 points, dominating the first half. Zhang, Channell, Yan, and Weiser contributed points of 55, 65, 85, and 135, for a sum of 340, compared to Chillicothe’s 120.
Chillicothe had a come-back in the second half with 220 points. But it could not recover from Academy’s lead. The Vikes continued to answer valuable questions that pushed the victory out of Chillicothe’s reach. Academy stayed in front with its 370 second-half points in a game that ended with 710-340.
Eager to build on its win, Academy faces Dublin Jerome on Monday, October 16.
