Coming off of a frustrating loss to Fairbanks on Saturday, September 23, the CA girls soccer team bounced back with a pair of impressive wins.

On Monday, September 25, the Vikes hosted West Jefferson. Academy busted out of the gates, scoring two quick goals. They never looked back, blowing out the Roughriders, 5-1. Olivia Archibald continued her outstanding freshman campaign, leading CA with 2 goals.

The girls carried their momentum into a battle against Wellington on September 27. CA struck quickly, as Archibald netted a beautiful goal off of a cross by Katie Schiano’21.

The desperate Roughriders tried to respond with an equalizer for the remainder of the game, but the Vikings defense would have none of it. Senior goalie Kyra Zoog and company impeded West Jefferson’s attack and preserved a 1-0 victory.

The Vikings will look to improve upon their impressive 7-2-1 record as they play at CSG on Monday, October 2.
