After Hurricane Harvey ravaged Texas’s southeast and and the southern part of Louisiana, Academy’s Service Board, led by Mrs. Bening, Angel Watkins, and Neena Baliga, placed donation carts all around the school to collect items ranging from bottled water to new towels, following the recommended list provided by the American Red Cross.
Items were sent to Texas via the help of Williams & Sonoma’s Distribution and Logistics manager, Shay Northup, on Friday, September 8, at the end of the Upper School’s annual Service Day.
While our school community’s donations are only a fraction of what the thousands of displaced people need, Academy shipped its collection to help the many who are afflicted as they attempt to rebuild their lives.
