The CA boys lacrosse team dominated in its first game of districts, advancing to the quarterfinals with a 16-5 drubbing of Dayton Carroll.
Energized for another run at a district championship, the Vikes burst out of the gates and took a 3-0 lead after the first quarter. The Patriots attempted to climb back into the game, but Academy immediately responded and stretched its lead to 6-2 at the break.
Despite the comfortable advantage, the Vikings never took their foot off the gas in the second half, remaining in attack mode to close out the lopsided victory.
Sophomores Malcolm Klingbeil and David Barren continued to put up staggering numbers, as Klingbeil led CA with 4 goals and Barren had 3 goals and 6 assists. The duo has registered two of the greatest seasons in program history this year.
The #6 seed Vikes will put their season on the line when they travel to #3 seed Worthington Kilbourne to take on the Wolves on Friday, May 19.
