As most seniors are making (or have made) their decisions regarding the college they will attend this fall, the sophomores have kicked off the early stages of this process during College Counseling’s “Preview Night.”
On March 1, Darnell Heywood and Jen Fitzpatrick gave Academy’s sophomores and their families the opportunity to learn about what was in store for them in the upcoming years. The meeting was the perfect combination of alleviating anxiety and satisfying the curiosity of both parents and students.
Soon after, on April 6-7th, parents and students met individually with one of the two college counselors, Mr. Dow, or Mrs. Izokaitis for an academic meeting to discuss basic information: transcripts, classes, interests, and when to the ACT and SAT.
To enhance the process, sophomores will have the opportunity to visit both Denison and Ohio State on June 6 to visit both Denison and Ohio with our college counselors-an excellent chance to visit small and large schools.
Although the sophomores still have a few years to go, the meetings were a great starting point to get the ball rolling.
