The girls track team had another successful week of competition. An increased rigor of daily practices geared up our girls for the week ahead. Although they did not place first overall in either of the meets, they still placed well in various events.
When the Vikings traveled to Worthington Christian on Monday, April 3, they were met with strong winds and heavy rain. Our girls persevered and placed well in multiple events: the 400 meter dash, the 1600 meter run, and the high jump.
The weather cleared up by the time the team traveled to Big Walnut for its invitational relay meet on Saturday, April 8. Our girls did well in every event, including a 4th place finish in the 4×400 relay. In addition to strong running, the team’s throwers did a marvelous job. Juniors Lexis Hughes and Khloe Dubenion placed 12th and 13th, respectively, in the shot put, and Dubenion placed 6th in the discus.
The girls track team has their first home meet of the season on Wednesday, April 12.
The Vikings then travel to Mansfield on Saturday, April 15, for the Mansfield Mehock Relays.
