Academy Glee Club Showcase

The CA Glee Club, also known as ReVOICE, was created this year with one purpose: to make music. And on February 3, our school’s talented musicians did just that!

Performing a mix of old Disney classics such as “When You Wish Upon A Star,” “Go The Distance,” and “Touch The Sky, ” students incorporated props, choreography, and sophisticated lighting into the show.

Ninth graders Sanskruti Adma, Donovan Simpson, Nikki Turley, Sanskruti Adman and sophomores Mira Bhasin, Courtney Batchelor, Sidney Edson, Maddie McAfee, Aylah Mendenhall, Maggie Ridgeway may have made up a smaller group, but this certainly did not diminish the quality of the performance.

After the performance, Academy’s choir teacher and Glee Club advisor, Mrs. Brooks, said, that she had nothing to do with show’s content, and that  the results were all because of “ them.”

The original choreography was created mostly by Sidney Edson. Hamza Kashubeck acted as the show’s lights director, making ReVOICE even more impressive. If this performance is anything to judge by, then ReVOICE has more than a few treats ready for the Academy community in the coming year
