The boys wrestling team hosted a five-team tournament on Saturday, January 21. Coming off a week of two matches, they knew winning would be difficult.
The Vikes endured some tough battles, headlined by junior co-captain Josh Pearson’s final match. After falling behind 2-0, Pearson stormed back to win, leading him to first place in the 182 weight class. The boys also wrestled well in the heavyweight class, with freshman Philip Soderberg placing first and junior Carson Nichols placing second.
The wrestling Vikes hit the mats again this Wednesday for the OHSAA state duals regional quarter final and are determined to give it their all to advance in the post-season tournament.
