Bows glided gracefully across strings as the orchestra’s Contemporary and Chamber Ensembles performed at their Fall Concert on Thursday, November 10.
The Contemporary Orchestra played several well-known pieces, but “All About That Bass,” featuring a solo from Harry Mills’19 garnered the most attention. The group finished its portion of the concert with a thrilling “Arabian Dreams,” with percussion by Simon Iobst’20.
After the dynamic pieces by the 8th grade, including a Green Day cover with electric violins and cellos, the Chamber Ensemble performed two songs.
“Themes from Romeo and Juliet,” a haunting orchestral tale of a well-known love story, captivated audience members before the concert closed with “Suite for Strings,” a college-level work based on four folksongs.
Kudos to both orchestral ensembles and Mrs. Bush for a night of engaging, wonderful music!
