As this year comes to a close, many teachers are preparing to move into new classrooms. For the art teachers, it’s a both a daunting task and an exciting change.
For eleven years, ceramics and sculpture teacher, Andy Rahe’94, has been in his current classroom, which has artwork in its every nook and cranny.
Works by Mr. Rahe’s current students and those who have graduated sit side by side on crowded shelves and tables. Sculptures, pots, and drawings are stored wherever they will fit, whether that means perched on top of a cabinet or balanced on top of other objects.
By enlisting the help of his students, Mr. Rahe is getting the room cleaned up and his equipment moved. Pretty soon, his students will be in a new, clean classroom that’s just waiting to be filled with new art.
