The challenge to rebound after the tough New Albany loss did not faze the CA girls lacrosse team. The girls went 4-0 during their third week, beginning on Wednesday, April 13, against fellow DII competitor, Bishop Hartley. Academy won 13-10, proving its resilience in pressure situations.
The girls continued their dominance the next afternoon, in which they ousted Wellington, a natural Academy rival, 14-1. The team then looked to prepare for its Saturday double-header.
The prom excitement did not distract the girls from the task ahead on Saturday, April 18. It was clear they didn’t want to risk any negativity before the dance because the girls soared past both opponents, beating Summit Country Day 12-3 and Wooster 13-1. Lily Risk led the way with eight goals, and the Vikings improved to 6-3.
With a new bounce in their step, the girls lacrosse team walked confidently into prom after an incredible week.
