Girls Track Defeats Grandview Heights, Worthington Christian, and Grove City Christian

On Monday, April 4, the Vikes battled in freezing rain and finished the meet with a total of 68 points, securing first place with 42 points ahead of Grove City Christian.

The 4×800 relay of Jacinta Crestanello’17, Lily Kaufman’17, Ryan Milbourne’19, and  Maddie Tuckerman’19 finished in first place. Crestanello and Jessica Griffin’17, along with senior co-captains Louise Rosler and Cobi Warstler won the 4×400 relay with a time of 4:43.6.

Warstler secured first place in the 800-meter with a time of 2.42.7 and won the 1600-meter with a time of 6:06.1.Griffin placed first in the 200-dash with 29 seconds.

Despite the high winds and low temperature, the girls gave it their all.

Crestanello says, “The weather was awful and we were all freezing, but we pushed through and ran well in bad conditions.”

The girls meet on Saturday, April 9, was postponed due to thunderstorms. Their next meet is at home on Tuesday, April 12.

The team will travel to Bexley on Friday, April 15.
