Every year, over a billion people from all around the world gather to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on February 8th this year and lasts for 15 days.
On January 30th, Chinese communities from Columbus, Toledo, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Dayton will gather at Westerville Central High School to jointly celebrate the New Year. At this festival, performances will be held throughout the day, featuring a whirlwind of activities that are sure to help you get into the spirit of the new year.
The performances will range from singing and dancing to martial arts, showcasing the multitude of talented Chinese people in the Columbus community and beyond.
Authentic Chinese food will be served, including bubble tea, dim sum, and other delicacies provided by local Chinese restaurants. Also featured will be live cooking demonstrations and tea ceremonies, which are great ways to learn about Chinese culture while sampling food from the various regions of the country.
Columbus Academy will host a booth at the festival. Students who volunteer will get a free meal ticket and Service hours.
