Girls Swimming Defeats Bexley, Wins an Invitational

On Friday, January 22, the Aquavikes defeated Bexley and on January 23, the team won the Mini-Invitational against 4 other teams.

In the team’s meet against Bexley, it won the 200 medley relay,comprised of Sarah Campbell’16, Audrey Grammel’17, Inji Kang’19, and Carly Shocket’18.  Sydney Brault’16 won the 200 free, Jane Li’18 won the 200 IM, and Brault won again in the 100 free. Campbell placed first in the 500 free, and Brault, Jessica Hile’16, Li, and Campbell won the 200 free relay. Campbell won the 100 breaststroke. Academy placed first in the 400 free relay, with Li, Murphy Rubcich’17, Shocket, and Brault, defeating Bexley 98-74.

On Saturday, the girls performed even better. Campbell, Grammel, Li, and Rubcich won the 200 medley relay, Brault won the 200 free, Campbell won the 200 IM, Li won the 100 fly, and Brault won the 500 free.

They continued placing high with Campbell, Grammel, Callista Popp’19, and Brault winning the 200 free relay, Campbell winning the 100 backstroke, and Grammel winning the 100 breaststroke. Also taking the 400 free relay were Li, Popp, Shocket, and Brault.
Esther Lawerence’18 and Jordan Skilken’19 took the top two diving spots to win their meet at CSG.
