Girls Swimming Defeats Teays Valley and Granville

Defeating Teays Valley 121-41 on Friday, January 8th, and then defeating Granville 95-73 on Saturday, January 9th, the girls had a grand kickstart to the new year.

On the 8th, the 200-medley relay of Inji Kang’19, Sydney Brault’16, Murphy Rubcich’17, and Audrey Grammel’17 placed first. Sarah Campbell’16 came in first for the 200-free. Brault again placed first for the 200-IM, and Jane Li’19 won the 50-free and 100-fly. The girls continued with strong results, as Campbell won the 100-free and Grammel earned first-place in the 500-free.

In relays, the 200-free team placed first with Li, Campbell, Carly Shocket’18 as did Callista Popp’19. In the 400-free, raced by Brault, Li, Grammel, and Campbell. Brault placed first in the 100-back and Shocket placed first in the 100-breast.

On Saturday, the team continued to thrive. The 200-medley relay team placed first again, Li won the 200-free, Campbell came in first for both the 50 and the 100-free, and Grammel won the 100-fly. Academy placed first in the 200-free relay again, Kang won the 100-back, and Li won the 100-breast.
