What to Do in Columbus: Week of October 21st

With Halloween only a couple weeks away, Columbus’ spooky-themed events are in full swing. Here are a few coming up this week that may interest you or your families.

Wednesday, October 21: Creepside Festival, Creekside (Gahanna)

It can never be too early for trick-or-treating, and Creekside is taking that to heart. From 4:30 to 8:00, kids of all ages and their families are welcome to enjoy food, music, and candy at Creekside—in costume–of course.

Saturday, October 24: COSI 5K and Family Fun Run, COSI Columbus

This race won’t be your typical 5K. Beginning at 9:00 in the morning, potential runners must be in costume to participate. Of course, if running isn’t really your thing, there is also the option of a 1K family walk, beginning at the same time. Food, drinks, and general admission passes to COSI will be provided at the finish line. If you still don’t have plans Saturday morning, this would be a great way to spend it with your family or friends.

Haunted Hoochie, Pataskala Haunted Forest, Scare-a-Torium: Dead Acres, Pataskala, Dublin

If you’re looking for more of a scare, one of these haunted attractions might tempt you. Featuring gruesome costumes, chilling sceneries, and actors who aren’t afraid to get in close for a scare, these sites will provide the fear and adrenaline rush some people crave. If you’re one of them, grab a few friends, and make your way to one of these haunted grounds. Each site is open on certain dates and times. You can check for them online.
